Well, we have now made it to 31 weeks. Next Saturday will make me 32 weeks pregnant! 8 whole months! I am just starting to get to the point where pants/shorts are becoming an issue. They aren’t fitting, even though they are maternity.
I took Hubby on Friday morning to Greg’s house to get on the RV at 5am. It was early. They got it all packed up and hit the road by 5:30am. They rolled into Vegas about 7:00pm my time (6pm their time). He was pretty tired. He drove the last stretch including around the city.
My mom moved in Friday night. It’s been pretty mellow here. She went to Supper Solutions with her Red Hat ladies yesterday. She made 4 meals. She said it was fun and easy. They have everything pretty much ready to go for you; you just package it up and take it home. So, last night we tried their Chicken Apricot Pitas. They were pretty tasty and so was the fried zucchini we had to go with it. And the strawberry shortcake we had for dessert later wasn’t bad either.
For those of you who don’t know what Supper Solutions is, I will do my best to explain. They have a menu you choose from, and then you go to their shop and prepare the main course of a meal. So, for the apricot chicken pitas, they provided the apricots all diced up, the cooked chicken diced up, the mayo and spices to mix in, plus the pitas cut in half. You put them into freezer bags and bring it home, when you want to eat it, you defrost it and there ya go, a meal! They also do steak dishes, fish dishes, chicken dishes, not all are pre-cooked. Some, once you defrost them you need to cook them. But like for a steak dish they provided the spices to marinade. There was a chicken cordon blue that you had to wrap the ham around the cheese and then the chicken around the ham. I hope that gives you a better explanation. Pretty much, they take the prep work out of preparing a main dish to make it easy for you at home. Here is their website:
http://www.suppersolutionsinc.com/
There are several different companies that do this now. I have heard of Dream Dinners, and there is another one opening up not to far from our house. And just yesterday I got a flyer in the mail about a 4th company opening one in Rockrimmon, (another part of town). Americans are all about ease and convenience these days!
Yesterday was hot. We put out the baby pools for the dogs. Bristol was the only one to take advantage of them. He would run from one to the other. He had a blast! Especially once we put some balls in the pools. He chased them around the water. At one point he even laid down in one! He was having a blast. At some point during the afternoon, I think he finally convinced, or tricked, Maggie into getting in. Because the next thing I knew she was soaking wet also. Buddy had no interest in the water. It was a real treat for them and we will have to do it again, because Bristol LOVES water!
Well, I guess I should go sort laundry and take a shower. My mom ran home for a few hours, and when she gets back we are heading to Target.
Here is what Baby girl K is up to now:

She was doing the Samba in my tummy the other night. She was kicking like I have never felt her kick before! We may have a dancer on our hands!

update
Well, Hubby and I got to see baby girl K again today, and a lot of her. We had another ultrasound as they looked her over for growth. It was determined today that she is in the 20% percentile for size, currently. We have to go back in 3 weeks to get another ultrasound to make sure she is growing as she should. But, if she stays how she is now, she will just be a small baby. Okay by me!
And the doctor determined that I am still bleeding because my cervix just isn’t a happy camper so to speak. He is hitting me with a ton of antibiotics for the next 14 days. He told me that I don’t have to be on complete bed rest, but the easier I take it, the less I bleed. And really, who likes to bleed?
Hubby is leaving early Friday morning for Las Vegas, they are taking an RV. My mother has graciously agreed to move in to take care of me while he is gone. She came up tonight and helped Hubby get the guest room somewhat livable for herself. It was buried under all the stuff for the baby’s room. We moved everything in there while we paint. And since we painted the closet also, the closet is empty in the baby’s room as well. The paint is dry in there now, but the door is sealed with plastic, anxiously awaiting the arrival of Susan and Zak and their paint gun.
After today I feel a little bit better about the bleeding. Of course I knew what it was from the first trip to the hospital 4 weeks ago. But, I feel better knowing I don’t have to be on complete bed rest. And that there really isn’t anything they can do to stop the bleeding, and that the bleeding is no indication of problems with the baby. My new worry is the baby growing appropriately, but I am not overly worried about that either. I know I feel bigger and bigger, so I can only assume she is causing it. And it seems like a good excuse to just continue eating, since I am hungry all the time!

Bed sweet bed
Well, this pregnancy isn’t going to be a quiet one. I wonder what that says about the baby? Is she going to be a little stinker? Is she going to be difficult?
I am still having issues. The doctors now have me on total bed rest. I am only supposed to get out of bed to go to the restroom. Other than that, for now, I am in bed, on my side. So, this will be a short post, as it really isn’t easy to type sideways. I spent time at the doctors today and I get to do it again tomorrow. More tests.
Hubby leaves for Las Vegas Friday, so my mom is going to move in to take care of things for me, and to take care of me. Just imagine what it’s like to spend all your time in bed. I know, most people think, ohhh, I would LOVE that. Yeah, well, try to get your laundry done, grocery shop, get dog food, make money (work)… You can’t do any of that from laying on your side in bed.
So far the only things I have found I can do while laying on my side in bed is watch TV and read. I try to do cross stitch, I can only do little bits at a time.
My puppies sure are loving it though. One of them is usually camped out on the bed with me, sometimes 2 and once in a great while, all 3!
Susan and Zak arrive next week, while Brian is out of town. I am really looking forward to that!
Well, I am going to end it here for now.

30 weeks
Well, I am 7 & ½ months pregnant now. I can not tell you how often I have heartburn. It’s not all that bad, it’s just constantly there. It’s very annoying. I even have it after eating breakfast. So, it sticks around pretty much all day. I have a large bottle of Tums on each level of the house. And I picked one up at Target today to put in my purse.
Other than that things have been on the semi-mild side. We had another trip to the hospital on Friday for the same thing as 3 weeks ago, but much milder. All though while there, I had one of the most intense contractions I have had yet. Ouch. That feeling makes me really not look forward to September 30th. But due to this little trip, they put me on extreme bed rest for the weekend. So, I am getting to spend the weekend in bed, on my side. That really limits what you can do when they make you lie on your side.
Anyway, baby is doing really great. Her heartbeat was really strong while we were there. And she was moving and kicking at the monitors. There are days when I say she is holding a party in there. The great thing is that I think she is a sleeper. Either that or I can sleep all night through her movements. I sleep really well through the night, barring 1 or 2 bathroom trips.
This afternoon we went to Tony and Kelly’s baby shower for baby Z2. (Their second daughter is due at the end of August). Her sister came up with the great idea to give them gifts that start with a certain letter. It was fun. We had the letter N. So we gave them:
Nasal Aspirator
Nail clippers
Newborn Diapers
Nuk pacifiers
Nail Polish (for Kelly)
Nose Plugs (for Tony)
Nickels
Nilla Wafers
Nursery Rhymes
A book of Numbers
Nursing pads
Nightgown (for Kinsey)
A Nightlight
Nipple/Bottle Brush
It was fun trying to come up with all those items that start with N! It wasn’t easy either.
Hubby and I only stayed about 2 hours so that I could come home and get back in bed. It’s really boring spending all this time in bed!! But all 3 dogs have enjoyed it, they spend time hanging out with me in bed.
Well, I guess I better go back and lay down again. Here is what she is up to now:

29 weeks
Well, here are the much anticipated pictures. I know they are small here, but for those of you who know how to access the website, please feel free to do so, as the pictures are there as well, and larger.
Here is before the cut:

And after:

Hubby came home from his week long trip to Austin, TX last Friday night. He wasn’t overly thrilled with the new do, but he knows it was for a good cause and he knows it will grow.
It was cadet weekend here. Friday night our last year doolie, John, called and said he wanted to come over. So, I went and picked him up. He spent the night and we took him back about noon on Saturday. We see him roughly once every 2 months. Great kid, I think he will make it through the Academy no problem.
Sunday was Doolie’s Day Out, where we pick up 2 freshman who are going through Basic Training right now and give them a break. We bring them back here and let them chill out. They usually crash in the basement. Usually there are several phone calls to home, sleeping, playing, relaxing, and eating. We try to feed them a good lunch, and have plenty of goodies on hand. This is our 4th year doing Doolies Day Out.
We had 2 great cadets this year. Both of them were from Air Force Families, and both of them were very appreciative of the break. I think they were the most appreciative cadets we have had yet. They just seemed really happy to be away from there for a day. All the other years the cadets were just so so about being away from the Academy. Kind of like they could take it or leave it.
The nursery is moving along. We got the ceiling painted and then Hubby painted the walls with primer tonight. So, the room is ready to go for color!

New Do!
Well, it’s late for me, so this will be brief. Let’s see, what is new? Oh yeah, I chopped 10 & ½ inches off my hair. Yes, my hair is now really short. Really really short. But, I like it so that is what matters, right? Hubby will see it tomorrow night, I am sure any of you across the country will hear the scream when he sees it. He was not for me cutting it. But, my hair that was cut off was donated to Locks of Love. They make wigs for kids who are ill and lose all their hair due to illness. When Hubby gets home, and comes back to after fainting, I will have him upload the pictures. My friend Amanda and her sister went. Her sister also cut her hair and donated it to Locks of Love. Amanda wasn’t quite at her 10 inches, so she just got her hair cut short.
It’s very different! I am sure it will take me a few days to get used to. I am sure it’s going to take everyone a while to get used to since it’s such a change! We got the donation cuts for free. We were at a Beauty Salon/Store. So, I picked up some new fun nail polish for myself while I was there also. I painted my nails when I got home. Hubby says that I always stick to boring pinks and I never branch out. So, I branched out and got an OPI color called My Chihuahua Bites! It’s a red/pink/coral type color. Bright, great for summer and to go with a new SHORT sassy haircut!
Baby is growing like a weed. At least that is how I feel! I feel like every day my tummy gets bigger! I really don’t know how my body does all that stretching to make room for her.
I have decided not to go to Vegas in 2 weeks. I decided I feel much better staying at home and close to my doctor. I really notice a difference from when I put my feet up and rest and be lazy versus being up and walking around. Today, for instance, I worked 4 hours at Security Horizon. That is pretty much a sitting job. Then I came home, napped and relaxed and about 3pm got up and moving to go get my haircut. I met Amanda and her sister at 4pm at Panera Bread, where we had dinner. Their haircut appointment was for 5pm, mine was for 6pm. After my haircut I swung through Pottery Barn for Kids real quick and then headed for home. That was about 7pm. And just being up and moving for those 3 hours, I could feel my lower belly start to tighten. So, staying home from Vegas and forcing myself to take it easy right now really feels like the best thing for me to do.
Well, it’s late and so this pregnant lady should head to bed. I will get pictures of the new do out soon!

28 weeks
Well, I am 7 months pregnant NOW! Ack, where has time gone? Now that I have time to actually do stuff since I am down to 1 job, I sure as heck don’t feel like getting it done. I feel like I am back in the first trimester now! Sleeping seems very inviting all the time, and hello heartburn. I have heartburn 24 hours a day now. Probably because my stomach is now sitting somewhere around my throat. Okay, not really that far up, but you get the idea. That is why pregnant women get heartburn so easy, their stomachs are all mushed up closer to the top of the body. Heck, the way I feel, I don’t know where half of my internal organs have gone. It feels like its all baby in there.
So, bedtime for me is back to 9pm or 9:30pm. Throughout the second trimester, there were a couple times when I saw 11pm! That was always amazing, and Hubby always asked if I was okay when I was up that late!
Well, the past week has been pretty quiet. But that’s the point now that I am supposed to be taking it easy. We did take Thursday afternoon off and went and registered at Babies R Us. That was a 4 hour long adventure. I was pretty much exhausted by the end of that. Today we are going to register at Target for a few other items we did find or like at Babies R Us.
After that we plan on working on the nursery a bit. We plan on painting the ceiling before the wall painting gets done in August. And since Hubby will be gone a bit between now and then, we have to work on it when we can.
Well, I need to go and eat my mid morning snack. My tummy is growling. Here is what Baby Girl K is up to now:

Happy 4th of July!
Well, here we are, the 4th of July. It’s rather a depressing day for me today. We were supposed to be flying to Monterey today. But, after the episode last Wednesday, the doctor said no. I have to stay home close to my doctors and hospital, just in case. How come I have a feeling this week will go by just fine with no incidents? So, for us, it’s going to be another normal week. I really keep hoping maybe we can take 1 extra day for ourselves and do something special But every time I try to think of something special to do, I realize that I can’t do it due to my current restrictions from the doctor. I thought, maybe we could spend the day at the zoo. Nope, too much walking. Maybe we could drive to the mountains and have lunch in Breckenridge or something. Nope, too far from home. I guess our days of special things are done for quite a while now.
We are planning on spending some time registering though. I know there are several people who will be happy to hear that. I spent the day researching baby products such as cribs, strollers, car seats, you name it. So, I feel a bit more prepared for registering. I also feel really overwhelmed! It’s amazing how much stuff you need when having a baby. The most recent purchase we did, which was really not a necessity but a want, was a camcorder. So we will be able to send out short movie clips of new baby girl to anxious grandparents and aunts and uncles!
Growing up the 4th of July was always my favorite holiday. We used to go to Memorial Park and sit just about as close as we could to the fireworks. When the fireworks went off, you would lie back on the grass and it sure felt like they were falling right on you. And the noise would shake your entire being. It was so great. It’s been a long time since I have done that. I also had a great 4th once in Virginia. We went out onto the local military instillation, which was an island. They had food and all the stuff like they did here growing up, and they lit the fireworks off over the bay. This again was like you were right under them. That was pretty neat as well. Of course traffic to get out of there wasn’t as fun, but I would have done it again. This year we watched the 4th on the Mall (Washington DC) on PBS. Somehow, it’s really not the same.
For excitement today we did watch the shuttle liftoff on one of our satellite HD channels. And when I say we watched it, I mean, about 2-3 hours worth. We turned it on as the last astronaut was getting buckled into her seat and watched from there. We watched them shut the door, and everything. I was extremely intrigued by the whole thing! I would love to be there in Florida for an actual lift off at some point in my life. All though, it’s probably better to see most of it on TV as you can see more that way. But someday I will have to experience it.
I hope that your 4th of July was fun!
