Well, we are back from Florida! What a trip! It started off EARLY Friday morning for the girls and me. Hubby had left early Tuesday morning, so he was already in FL. Anyway, when I woke up at 4:30am, it was snowing. So, the girls and I drove to the airport in the snow. It made me so thankful that we were heading to Florida!
The day went ok for us. The girls really struggled when the planes descended for landing. Their ears really hurt them. That was probably the worst part. The second difficult thing was trying to get all the luggage from the shuttle into the airport. That was not an easy feat! But I got it done!
Other than those 2 things, traveling by myself with the girls was ok. Not something I would want to do every month, but manageable. And thankfully Hubby was waiting on the other end to help with luggage!
From the airport we headed up to Grammy and Granddad's house. Upon arrival Courtney wanted to know where their pool was. She was disappointed to learn it wasn't in their back yard. Then she wanted to know where their basement was, and their upstairs. When Grammy told her she didn't have a basement or upstairs, Courtney said "where do you sleep?!" Grammy had to show her all the bedroom on the one level. It was cute!
Saturday we spent the day tooling around in the golf cart and then some swimming! Sunday was similar, we spent some time at Aunt Nicky's house as well. Aunt Nicky only has a golf cart! She doesn't have a car! I thought that was so awesome!
Monday we went to Silver Springs. Here is how their web page describes them:
No matter what your age, there are plenty of rides and attractions at Silver Springs that will make you laugh, fill you with wonder, and provide a glimpse into what life was like here more than 10,000 years ago. Just as they did then, the springs pump out 550 million gallons of sparkling-clear water a day—enough to supply the entire city of New York.
Surrounding the springs is a marvelous diversity of animals and nature you simply won’t find anywhere else. Come and explore the stunning beauty of Florida in its natural state.
It was pretty neat! When we were waiting for our glass bottom boat ride, there was a alligator swimming around! Not part of the park! Just a free alligator! Scary, but cool!
Tuesday was Courtney's big day. We woke her up at 6:30am and we took her to Disney World's The Magic Kingdom. It took her a while to figure out what it was all about, but once she realized she got to meet Princesses and Pluto, she was super excited. I thought I had lunch reservations to eat with the Princesses, but I messed up and somehow we ended up with Pooh and Friends. But she really got a kick out of that too! After lunch we waited in lines to meet Princesses and get their autograph. Courtney was able to meet Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Belle, and Jasmine.
She also got to ride a few rides and do some fun things. Hubby and Courtney rode Splash Mountain! She said it was fun! (I watched). She also rode the Dumbo ride, the tea cups and several others. We stayed until after the Electric Parade at 9pm. She really enjoyed that! Then we took the ferry back across to head to our car! It was a very fun filled, LONG day! She has already asked to go back someday.
Wednesday we took the girls with Grammy and Granddad to Uncle Donald's farm. (http://uncledonaldsfarm.com/) It was a cute petting farm type place. The first thing we did was take a hay ride. We rode in a horse trailer that had hay bales to sit on and then lots of free hay in the middle. We used the hay in the middle to feed cows and a llama. The girls really got a kick out of that!
The girls also got to milk a goat and feed a baby goat with a bottle. They also got to pet a pig, a sheep, and several different kinds of rabbits. We bought a bag of feed, so they got to feed several of the animals. It was a cute place and the girls enjoyed it.
We really enjoyed spending time with Grammy and Granddad. I enjoyed soaking up the warm weather. Hubby was able to get in a round of golf with Granddad. Kasey loved riding on the golf carts. If you let her into the garage, she would climb right up into the golf cart and demand a ride. I am uploading many many pictures at the moment, I will try to get some up here soon!
Overall it was great! It was hard to leave and come home. But, we did. The girls did well on the planes this time. We gave them some Tylenol an hour before landing and that seemed to really help. Plus with Hubby coming home with us, it made everything a lot easier.
We all were so exhausted when we got home. On Friday (our first day home) I was so exhausted it was tough to get through the day. I did 5 loads of laundry, but that was about it. But it is nice to be home. And we woke up to snow this morning. (Makes me miss Florida!)
Well, I need to go and try to get some more cleaning done. I think the house exploded the moment we walked in somehow...

Florida, here we come!
Ahhh, a 4 year old. I have said several times recently that it feels like she has been 4 years old for about 5 years now. Really, will she ever NOT be 4? Or act it? Oy.....
Well, its been another busy week here. Hubby was out of town the first 3 days of last week. My friend Kim has been helping me clean and organize several rooms in the house. It's so nice! She is such a pro at it! We still have a few more rooms to tackle! It just makes me realize how weak I am in the organization/cleaning area.
This past Saturday I held a Bridal Shower for my friend Ruth. She had a 31 party, so I got to make lots of sales! And we turned it into a bridal shower at the same time. It was fun! It was a lot of work to get ready, but it was a lot of fun!
Today, and the next few days are also busy. Between playdates, preschool, and other things planned, I have to get ready for Florida! Hubby leaves Tuesday (tomorrow!), so I get to do most of it on my own. I think we are just about ready. I still need to get to Target and get Kasey a pair of kid headphones, but I am just about done gathering things. Now I just need to pack it all up. But before I can pack (and Hubby too) I have to do laundry. So, today is massive laundry day. My machines will be running all day! The nice thing is that due to the difference in weather I can pack all our shorts, swim suits, and light weight clothes and we won't need them here over the next few days! But I feel like I have a million things to do to get ready and just not enough time to do it! EEKK!
Fast forward, now it's evening. Got all the laundry done! Hubby is packed! Heck, I even picked out all my outfits, especially after looking at the forecast that says it's going to be in the 80's the whole time!! We really won't need our Florida clothes over the next 3 days here... I am so excited! Plus, we even got to Target, so the headphones are bought!
Well, it's time to head to bed, Hubby's gotta get up EARLY for his flight. The girls and I will be following in his footsteps 3 days later!

Travel begins
So, Hubby's travel has started. It's been about 3-4 months since he last traveled. I knew this first trip was going to be rough. I just wasn't expecting what I got. I expected my biggest issue to be Kasey, not Courtney. Boy was I wrong. Courtney has really had some behavior issues this week. Plus her potty training has regressed a bit! Are you kidding me? Of course Kasey has had her share of issues too. Mostly at bedtime. She doesn't want to go to bed, and she has been waking up once she has been a sleep a little while. Last night she was up for 2 hours in the middle of the night. It was like having a newborn all over again! Jeez!
At least this week has been busy, so it has flown by. That has helped a lot!
I had to take the birds into the vet today for their annual check up. Boy did they hate that! But Muse at least got comfortable enough that she wanted to be pet, but the first few minutes she was in her crate, she kept trying to figure out how to escape! They are so cute riding around in the little carrier!
I worked today on our trip to Florida! The tickets are booked, the Princess Luncheon is booked, we are ready! Well, almost. I did pick up a few fun things for the plane today. I am a little worried about flying cross country with the girls by myself... But, I can do it, right? Funny how we still need to make a few bigger purchases for the trip. We are going to get Courtney a new car seat so we don't have to bring the big bulky one. We are also going to get Kasey a refurbished iTouch. Courtney has had her own for over a year now, and Kasey can maneuver it no problem. So, to keep her entertained on the planes, she is gong to get her own. Having one of her own should also stop a lot of fights. Courtney doesn't get her iTouch a lot, but when she does, there is always issues.
I can't wait to go see my in-laws! How lucky am I that I LOVE my in-laws! I feel so blessed because I know that there are so many in-law conflicts out there. But I got really lucky! (Probably part of my whole smart choice of marrying Hubby...) :)
My Mother-in-law called tonight. It just cracks me up, they live in this retirement community, so they are collecting things for Courtney and Kasey to use/play with from all their neighbors. Everyone has grand-kids come and visit, so everyone has bits and pieces of toys/porta-cribs/strollers, etc! They even have a service you can rent all that equipment from! But Grammy has the girls HOOKED UP! I hear rumors of bikes, sidewalk chalk, and more! The girls are going to be spoiled! Never mind the fact that they will be able to go swimming in March! OUTSIDE!
I can't wait to tell Courtney about Disney World! More so, I can't WAIT for the Princess Lunch! And I found out today when I called Disney that we can go to Guest Services and get Courtney a "First Visit" button! That will supposedly acquire her extra attention from the characters! Man, I am just busting at the seams to go on this trip!
One thing that I learned about myself this week? I really lack in the organizing department. Thankfully my friend Kim is really strong in that area. So she came over Tuesday morning and helped me clean the basement. She is coming back tomorrow night to help with other areas of the house! I can't wait! I feel so much better about the basement! I can't wait for the rest of the house to be done! She has a weakness of cooking, so it's a fair trade. Plus I pay her in wine... LOL!
Well, I guess I should go and try to settle down a bit before bed. I am so amped up for the trip, I might not sleep tonight! And I still have over 2 weeks to go!
Hugs everyone!
