We are lucky

We are such a lucky family. We have had so many friends that ask us about a baby registry for #2. So, we wanted to pass along that we actually were so loved by everyone the first go round that we have pretty much all the big stuff we need! So, we are not doing any kind of registry for baby #2.

But all of you are so loving and generous, we still get asked what we need. To this we have decided to respond, if you still wish to get us a gift, please just get us a gift certificate to Target. This way we can get the things we do still need like diapers and formula. Everywhere else we are pretty set! And since #2 is also a girl, we have plenty of clothes too!

Thank you all for your generosity and how much you care about us!

Courtney-isms

These made me laugh, so hopefully they make you laugh also:

Courtney loves to give the dogs their treats in the morning. Bristol and Maggie get locked into the living room (or front room) while Buddy gets banished to his kennel. Since we lock Bristol and Maggie in with a baby gate, Courtney can give them their morning treats through the gate. Yesterday morning she was standing there getting ready to give them their treats. And as usual, in anticipation, Bristol was drooling. Courtney looked at Bristol and said "Bristol, your dripping!"

What a kid.

Also yesterday was a nice day weather wise, so I took Courtney to daycare in a heavy sweater instead of her big coat. While I was putting her stuff away, she was standing next to one of her friends. She turned and looked at her friend and said "Do you like my sweater? It's very soft..."

She just cracks me up!

32 weeks now

Here we are at 32 weeks! I really feel so lucky that this pregnancy has been so relatively smooth!! My back aches pretty darn bad, but after my first pregnancy, I will take backaches. I am now starting to get to the point that I am having a hard time sleeping at night. Simply because I am having a hard time getting comfortable.

I am also having a hard time eating almost any meat. For some reason this kid just doesn't like meat. It was the same way when I was pregnant with Courtney.

We are also progressing on the nursery! We got everything out of the room today, and we can start painting the closet and ceiling at any time!

It was a nicer day out today, so after we worked in the nursery, we took Courtney to the park. We were hoping to feed the ducks, but apparently they now have a city ordinance that you can no longer feed the ducks. We were a bit bummed about that. We hadn't told Courtney what we were hoping to do, so it wasn't a huge loss but we were a bit bummed to learn you can no longer do it. They had some nice playground equipment there, so we let her play for a while. She went down a HUGE slide! I couldn't believe she went down it!
Yesterday Hubby worked on showing Courtney how to play Guitar Hero on our Wii.

What else? Oh, last weekend Courtney came down with a horrible ear infection. I am not surprised with all the drainage she was having. I felt so bad for the poor kid, she was in a lot of pain. At least the infection was in the ear that still has the tube, so it was draining out (yuck). But we did have to take her to the doctor who did start her on antibiotics. She has her last dose of antibiotics tomorrow. I felt so bad for her when it hit though. I don' t think I have ever seen her in that much pain. Hubby actually spent the night with her in the recliner, something we haven't had to do since she was very little. But upright was the only way she was somewhat comfortable. And that molar that was believed to have caused the drainage in the first place is now in and the runny nose is gone. We have 1 more molar to get through. And I haven't felt the beginnings of it yet. Hopefully it starts soon so we can get through it before the baby arrives.

I can't believe we only have 8 weeks left until baby is here!!!

I guess I will end here, I can't think of much else to say.

31 weeks

Sorry it's been a while since my last post. I guess life has been busy.

So, I am 31 weeks pregnant as of today. I can't believe this pregnancy has gone so smooth! (Knock on wood). No hospital visits, no real problems. I have been having contractions, but I have been having those for months. This kid still moves so much more than Courtney ever did. I still have my pregnancy complaints (back pain, not being able to bend over, not always comfortable) but they are all still pretty common for any pregnancy! Wow, what a difference from the last time!

Courtney continues to amaze us. We took her up to the zoo this past weekend. She just about knows what every animal is and the noise they make. The thing that amazes me is that she calls the hippos by their full name 'hippopotamus'. She is starting to get into the big words. She has been enjoying being able to feed the giraffes all by herself, we don't have to hold her. She loves that she gets to pick which giraffe she gets to feed to0. She usually wants to feed the babies.

Our poor kid has had a runny nose for weeks. But she has also been steadily working on getting her 2 year molars in. They have been really good at coming in one at a time. Right as one gets all the way in, the next one starts. She had been having a cough as well that just would not go away. I finally took her to the pediatrician. The pediatrician concluded after looking her over that the teeth coming in are causing the runny nose, which in turn is causing drainage, which in turn is causing the cough. She had us try her on some Zyrtek. I am not real sure it helps her, but we still are trying it out.

I mentioned that she has been getting into saying 'big words'. The other day she told me something was 'incredible'. I asked her "did you just say incredible?" To which she replied "yes!" Ok then! Then last night she told me that she 'had to apologize' to one of her friends at school for hitting her. She actually used the word apologize.

Then last night she really blew Hubby and I away. She was playing with her letters last night. She brought a Q over to Hubby. We asked her what letter it was, she said "O". We said 'close!' Then we asked her if she could find the O. Which she went right to the fridge (where her letters are) and grabbed the O and came running back. We thought it has to be a fluke. So, we put all the letters she had brought us on the coffee table, there were probably about 15 letters. We asked her to pick out the O to which she promptly did. She knows the O, but she hasn't seemed to grasp any other letters yet. We were just blown away by the fact that she is 2 years and 5 months old and she already knows a letter!

We finally ordered the wall paper boarder we are going to put up in the baby's room. We did that yesterday, we should have it in 7-10 days. And we are pretty sure of the colors we are going to paint in the room as well. I think we will just double check again once we get the boarder in. We did finally manage to get all the furniture out of the room, so we are actually moving on the room now. Nothing like waiting until the last 2 months to get you motivated! We still have to go and pick out some accessories for the room, like a ceiling fan, rug, lamp, etc.

Well, I think that is about all that has been happening around here recently.

29 weeks along now

Well, I did my 3 hour glucose test. I had to drink a drink that was twice the amount of sugar than the first test. It was "cola" flavored as well. It was AWFUL... But, I passed! No gestational diabetes here! Now bring on the donuts!

Hubby taught a class in the Washington DC area this past week. The contact person for the class called our office on Monday and said "what is your incliment weather policy?" We were wondering why she was asking. She explained that they were expecting an inch of snow the next day. Us Coloradoans laughed. An inch of snow?! Jeez, that is what we get just about every time it snows! But apparently it was supposed to rain the second night causing everything to turn to ice. But everyone managed to make it to class every day. Hubby only had to walk from his hotel to the class location and he said some mornings were pretty slick.

I am now 29 weeks pregnant. Some of my maternity clothes are actually not going to fit me around the whole time. I have 2 sweaters that I bought but they don't have a ton of stretch to them so I am not sure I will be able to wear them until the end. And since I am due in April, I will have to find ways to wear warm clothes. It doesn't get warm until June around here. And even some of my pants I don't think will have enough stretch to make it to the end!

Today is Hubby's birthday! We celebrated last night with my parents. We had dinner, opened gifts and had cake all while watching the Superbowl. Hubby got some great gifts that he was really excited about.

I am sure there is more I could tell you about, but I am having a mind blank at the moment, so I will end here! Hope everyone is well!
