Another week gone by

Well, the snow from our blizzard almost all melted, and then it snowed again. Gotta love it. But again, that snow didn't last long either. This week they are predicting high 60's to low 70's for us! Whoohoooo!! But then we are expecting another storm late in the week. It's March for sure!

Yesterday my mom took Courtney and I to Disney on Ice. We went last year too, and Courtney really enjoyed it. She was excited again when she found out what we were doing. (We didn't tell her until we were in the parking lot.) There were princesses and everything. Courtney was mesmerized the whole time!
Later that afternoon, Hubby and Kasey came down to my parents' house to join us for dinner. The girls had fun playing together!
Today Courtney had a birthday party to go to at Ariels, which is a gymnastics place here in town. She had fun! They had a pretty cool set up for the birthday party! After playing out on the gym floor for an hour, they took the girls to the party room for cake and ice cream, where they all put on their princesses dresses. It was really cute to see 12 little girls all dressed up like princesses!

Man these kids grow up too fast!

SNOW!

I have to share another Courtney-ism... Saturday morning she crawls up in bed and gets in the middle. We then turn on Sprout for her to watch since we don' t have to get up yet, and Kasey is still asleep! We doze off and on while she watches a show. Hubby dozed off pretty good because Courtney says to him "Daddy, I can't hear the TV over your snoring! Roll over!" We were cracking up! What a funny girl!

Yesterday it snowed. It actually started Tuesday night, and for about 2 hours it was a blizzard. And I am serious when I say that! We got 5 inches in and hour and a half! And it snowed all night long and into the next day. The news people all said to stay home if you can. So that is exactly what the girls and I did. Hubby had a conference to go to, he headed out about 9am, after snow blowing our driveway and the neighbors driveway.

Our neighbor called and we agreed it was time to get out in the snow with the girls. I bundled them up and off we went to the neighbor's house! It was sooo much fun! We only played outside for about 20 minutes because it was still so cold and windy and the snow was so deep it was hard for the girls to walk, but we had fun while we did it. Kasey had a blast riding in the sled and Courtney enjoyed pulling her!
By the time 5 o'clock rolled around the sun had been out for a few hours and the roads and sidewalks were mostly clear! (Gotta love Colorado). After dinner Hubby took Courtney out on a walk. They bundled up and were gone about 15 minutes, when they got back, they headed into the back yard. Hubby taught Courtney how to make snow angels. Here she is making her first one! The dogs also LOVE playing in the snow, they get so WILD! I don't think there was a patch of untouched snow in our back yard by the time they came back in the house.

Saturday

What a busy day! We cleaned the bird cage, took about 2 hours to do a full, long cleaning...

Courtney was her usual self. Sometimes her comments make us LAUGH. She was having trouble listening right at lunch time. We sent her to time out once. She came back to the table when her time out was over, and promptly earned herself a time out again. She ran back into the living room to her time out spot and cried out "oh no, not again!". It was so funny! Hubby and I were around the corner cracking up.

Later our neighbor came over for a moment to chat. As she was leaving Courtney told her "call us if you need anything!" Her little mind is too funny!

Quick Update

Well, as usual things have been crazy here! Hubby was traveling the last two weeks, I expect him home any time now. Not sure when he will be traveling again, but March always begins travel season (and travel season tends to end about November).

Kasey is ok, she has a nasty virus at the moment. Possible RSV but certainly not pneumonia. I had to take her for a chest x-ray today. They did not see whatever it is they look for with pneumonia, but they did see the upper level infection meaning a virus. They also saw low lung capacity and a possible problem with her diaphragm. The last 2 thing have nothing to do with her being sick. But once she is well we will have to get her more x-rays to have it checked out. May be a problem, may not. We will find out later.

Courtney has been busy. She is in preschool part time again two mornings a week, Monday and Tuesday. But soon it will only be one morning a week. She finally got her spot in hippotherapy! She will start that on Tuesday mornings in April! Wednesdays are her occupational therapy and every other week her behavioral therapy as well. Thursdays are zoo preschool days and then Friday are MOPS day. So, you can see, our weeks are full!

We also have pulled out of My Gym for now. We are looking to get her into swimming lessons. Since our weeks are already so busy, we can't add something without taking something away! She is super excited to try swimming again! Now we just have to figure out where.

And as a side note, her EEG came out totally normal! Yea!

I have been busy shuttling Courtney around from event to event! At least I get to have MOPS, so that is something for me. And at the moment, poor Kasey is just along for the ride. I sure hope by the time we start adding stuff in for Kasey that we have less for Courtney to do! And even with our current schedule, we are missing speech therapy for Courtney because we are on insurance hold. We are waiting to see next week if we were granted the Scottish Right to pay for speech therapy until insurance will cover the next 2o visits (that is May).

The birds are settling in nicely. Muse is becoming quite our cuddle-bug. She loves for me to pet and scratch her neck. Piglet is being a little stand-offish now, but she is still young, so we have a lot of work to do with her.

Maggie and Bristol are going nuts with the birds. Bristol watches them with a gleam in his eye (not a good gleam). Maggie will actually leap at the cage occasionally. So between the two dogs and Kasey always wanting to stick her fingers in the cage, we have a barrier built around the cage with two tables at the moment. We need to get an expandable baby gate to put around it.

Speaking of Kasey again, she is SO CLOSE to walking. She is now taking several steps on her own. I would say in the next week or two she will be transitioning into walking instead of crawling to get around!

Well, like I said I expect Hubby home any minute, so I should go move laundry before he gets here!

EEG tomorrow

Well, Courtney has an EEG tomorrow. It won't hurt her and she won't be sedated, but it's still hard to see your kid go through testing. After we finish her EEG we will go over to see the neurologist.

The appointment is set for 8am, but they tell you that they want you kid sleepy. Really? At 8am? Do none of them have kids? Don't they know that kids are up and raring to go at 8am? Shesh... So, we are going to have to get her up early in the morning, and I am thinking like 5am early so that she may be wound down and sleepy for the 8am test.

Courtney had her occupational therapy today. I love her occupational therapist. She is really good with Courtney.

Kasey had physical therapy today. She isn't doing so good with her neck and back muscles. She is a little behind developmentally there. So, we have a lot of work to do there. And of course she doesn't like to do the work, so she screams the whole time.

Courtney's speech therapy is on hold for now. We hit our 20 visits permitted by our insurance company. We applied for a program called the Scottish Right. Apparently they help families out when the insurance coverage runs out. So, we are waiting to hear if Courtney gets accepted into that program. They don't meet until the 3rd Friday of the month, so it will be a while. But it's ok by me. It's nice to have a break. We were having to drive all the way down town for her speech therapy, so not having to do that for a bit is a nice break.

The past week has been a little quiet, which is nice. Saturday night I had a Lia Sophia party here at the house. I had several women over to look at jewelry. It was fun.

Well, I need to end it here, I have some work to do and I need to get to bed early since we will have to be UP so early! Hope everyone is well!
