New Job
WooHoo!! I have started the new job. So far the first day has been great. A lot more relaxed atmosphere! The amount of travel doesn't look to be too much for now, the first trip is scheduled for the end of February.

And they are tasty too!
I forgot to mention that I was on the news again the other day! I can't help it if I am a movie star myself! They were actually doing a story on the Woodmen Road expansion (that is the road WnW is on) and they interviewed my boss because he is still arguing with the city over trees (long story). So, they came to the store and filmed me doing work. Not sure how I fit in this picture, but here I am. So, they (the news people) say to me: well, pretend that we are not here and just do what you would normally do. Gee, does making phone calls and doing boring managerial stuff make for good TV? I didn't think it did. So, they filmed me (with a microphone on no less) filling the biscuit bins on our biscuit bar. And of course I thought, well they shouldn't use anything I say in the news piece, so when the camera man was 1 foot from me, filming, I said, would you like to taste them, they are tasty too! Wouldn't you know they showed me on the news saying “they are tasty too!” Well, hey, if it brings more customers into the store, yea!
So then, a few mornings later, I was stopping at a local coffee shop that I stop at every now and again for my little coffee fix. The guy behind the counter blurts out “hey! A local celebrity!” The girl behind the counter looks up and says “where?!” looking for Tom Cruise or Dr. Phil. The coffee guy said “her, at the counter! She was on the news the other day”. To which coffee girl replies “oh” and goes back to toasting her bagel. Apparently she wasn't too impressed.
Other than that, things are the same. Hubby is in his last week of work. He is so excited about starting his new job!
Maggie started her training and Bristol starts tomorrow night! I am looking forward to it!
Well, it's late and I have to put the pack out one more time before bed....

Still here...
Things have been pretty much the same around here recently. Yesterday, Buddy woke up with an ouchy on his foot. He somehow has the pad of his back right foot completely raw. Hubby took him to the vet to get it looked at. He now has a cone on his head, and is on two kinds of medication to fix it. We aren't quite sure what happened, but he is now on the right path to fix it.
So, it hasn't really snowed around here for a few weeks. Know why? Because I bought new snow boots. Ever since they arrived (I ordered them from LL Bean), it hasn't snowed. I haven't gotten to test them out yet. We were supposed to get some snow last night. It ended up being a dusting....
We went up to the factory outlets yesterday in Castle Rock. We ended up getting some new luggage at the Samsonite store. Since Hubby will be doing more traveling, it was time. We have one carry one suitcase that has a broken zipper and the other one is getting worn and has small holes in the fabric. We looked and looked and looked. We had 3 suitcases that we sat and compared in different ways. We must have spent the better part of an hour there. We finally picked one of them. And they were having a buy one get another 50% off. So, we got the big suitcase as well as the smaller carry on version.
We also swung through the Park Meadows mall in Denver. We didn't spend much time there, but it was fun to walk through. We also had lunch there. Just in their food court.
It's been busy at work still for me. We did 100 washes on Saturday. That's A LOT. People were waiting 30-45 minutes for a tub! But, they waited! So, work has kept me hopping...
Other than that, things are the same. Hubby is just waiting for time to tick by so he can move on to the new job. He still has straight A's in his classes, too!

Welcome to 2006
Here are my resolutions from last year:
I resolve to try to get back to a size 8. I resolve to have less cavities, help my hubby eat well and exercise, maybe he can get down to a size 8 too! I resolve to continue to let friends and family know how much each one of them holds a very special place in my heart, and that I never take any of them for granted.
Let's see, I did lose 15 pounds! Size 8 sometimes. I do have less cavities, but still not perfect. However I have worked hard at taking care of my teeth. I don't think I succeeded in the area of helping Hubby lose weight. And I don't think I put forth a valiant effort in letting friends and family know how much they mean to me.
So, new resolutions for this year:
Maintain the weight, keep up the exercise. Continue to work on my teeth. Continue training with Bristol and Maggie, hopefully get Bristol to be a certified therapy dog this year. Really work with Hubby to lose the excess weight. Also to make an effort in making sure friends and family know that they are important to me and that I don't take them for granted.
Let's hope at the end of this year, I can say I met ALL my resolutions!
So, big news here. First, Suzi and Zak got engaged! December 14th! (I think). So, wedding plans are in the works. Not sure when or where yet, but soon!
And just this past week, Hubby accepted a job offer. Yes, he will be leaving the Utilities and is going to start working for the company I USED to work for, Security Horizon. He will be doing strictly computer security work, plus teaching. The job will require travel, so he will be gone about ½ the time. But he also has to finish school as well, so, it will be a balancing act for a little bit. He is really looking forward to this opportunity!
Other than that, things have still been busy at work. Today the store was closed for New Years Day, but we all went in and did inventory. Tomorrow, we go to the other store in town and do inventory there.
We did have our traditional New Year's party. We fondue'd. It seemed like a smaller crowd this year, all though it probably wasn't. We missed some of our regulars. Some were traveling, and some were ill. But we still rang in the New Year with good friends.
Well, I am exhausted and I have to get up early again tomorrow. I hope all of you had a safe new years and I hope 2006 brings you happiness and joy!
