Holy cow, where has the last month gone? We were busy wrapping up summer and preparing for school to start. Courtney started school on August 13th, which was earlier than the other schools in her district, but she was really ready to be back! Since we are actually starting the school year at the school this time (unlike last year) we were able to make it to the "Back to school night/orientation". Now I feel like we have come full circle. And listening to the director speak at orientation just made me so thankful that we found this school! We also met her teachers and they gave an overview of what Division 2 will be doing this year.
In Courtney's school they are broken into Divisions. Division 1 is just kindergarten. Division 2 is 1st and 2nd grade combined. And so on from there. There are 5 divisions in the school and divisions 2-5 have 2 grades in them. So Courtney's homeroom class is a mix of 1st and 2nd graders.
I was so excited for her when I heard what the teachers had planned for them this year! I was giddy for her to start school! She has been in 2 weeks now and has been loving it! The first 2 weeks they learned all about the brain, and I am so impressed by what Courtney can tell me about the brain. I have a feeling this is going to be an amazing year for her.
Kasey started preschool last week. She has been loving it! She has told me every day when I pick her up that she had fun. Of course after the first day she also told me she doesn't want to go back...but she did. And she hasn't regretted it.
So we have settled into our school routine. It feels so odd to me to have both girls in school. Granted, Kasey's is only for 2 hours and 45 minutes, 4 days a week, but still! Everyone asks me what I am going to do with myself. When I figure that out, I will let you know!
