We are now in the midst of travel season. My least favorite thing. Hubby is home, gone, home, gone... you get the picture. He just got back from a 2 week stint in Texas. I don't know if it was because he was gone longer than normal or if something else is going on, but Courtney has really really been struggling with behavior.
It was a very long two weeks, could be why I got a sinus infection towards the end. I have never seen her behave some of the ways she has been, and I am not quite sure how to guide her back to proper behavior. Seems like everything I try just doesn't work. More than once this week I have thought 'I wonder how much boarding school costs?'
Summer scares me. At least now she is at kindergarten 8-12 M-F, feeding her mind that soaks up everything like a sponge. Everyone (doctors, therapists) always say to feed her intellectually, all the time. Really? How on earth am I supposed to do that 12 hours a day with everything else going on?! It's to the point now that I do everything I can to avoid taking her into public. I do all my errands while she is at school.
I have prepared for summer by getting her into camps, I also bought a few workbooks for her to work on. Of course the issue at home is that she doesn't want to focus on that stuff. At home she would much rather play and do what she wants to do. As you can imagine, homework is a very long chore around here. So it will be interesting to see how she handles working on the workbook every day.
I also plan on the girls starting swimming lessons again. Hopefully between all those activities and play dates and other things, the summer will fly by. 1st grade next year! A full day of learning! Right up her alley.
Oh, and Kasey got into the preschool down the street!!!
