Bristol goes to the Vet

Ahhh, a day off today! With my current schedule, I still get 2 days off a week, but it sure doesn't feel like it! I feel like I work all the time!

Let's see, well, I have told you all about our trip now. Friday was a normal work day, and I worked Saturday. I was supposed to close the store that night, but we had a party for a friend to go to, so my assistant manager was nice enough to switch with me so I was able to go to the surprise party. We all got to Tony and Kelly's at 5:30pm and Tony was supposed to arrive at 6pm. So, at 7pm when he finally arrived, we all yelled 'Surprise' and then dug into the wonderful food that Kelly had brought in from Qdoba! It was very tasty!

Saturday morning Hubby took Bristol to the vet. His first visit to his new vet! Buddy tagged along to. We got Bristol all checked out. He weighed in at 32 pounds (seriously underweight), but in great shape. He gets fixed on Tuesday, and when he is under, they will have to pull his 2 baby canine teeth. They didn't fall out when the adult teeth grew in. We also had him and Buddy micro chipped. It's now law that any new dog that comes into a vet's office or any humane society, or SPCA has to be scanned for microchips. So, in case the dogs ever get out and someone picks them up, they can find there way back home just that much easier! AND it only costs $35. So, I highly suggest it to anyone! Heck, I am even thinking about having one put in Hubby! But then again, if he gets out and lost, do I really want him back? =)

It's a very odd feeling to have another type of dog. I was so used to having our Beagle and Beagle mix! I feel like a traitor to the Beagle name by having another breed of dog in the house. We used to call Petey and Buddy 'the brown one' and 'the white one'. Well, we can't say 'the brown one' anymore, because they are both brown! So, we are trying to figure out new nicknames. Hubby said it should be 'the fat one' and 'the skinny one'. Or 'the old one' and 'the new one'.

We are still working on the housebreaking thing with Bristol. He hasn't had an accident in the house in a week, but he does tend to piddle in his crate when he is left in there for a little while. So, we are still attempting to work on that. Right now it is difficult trying to get him to go potty outside when we are getting ready to leave. We try explaining to him that we are leaving and he won't have a chance to go potty again for a few hours, but it doesn't seem to matter to him. If he doesn't want to go, he won't. Ahh, puppyhood. The vet is pretty sure he is right about 6 months old. So, that would put him born about mid January.

Well, I have laundry to do, lots of cleaning to do and some errands to run. I guess I better go and get started!
