One whole week as parents

Well, we successfully made it through one whole week of being parents. You can’t see my kitchen counter or table, but the baby is happy and healthy. She has had a couple outings all ready. We have gone to Hubby’s work twice, lunch twice and the vet once. Oh, and the doctors office again this morning. Her weight came in at 6 lbs, 2.5 oz. So, she has gained back a little bit of weight. We have to go back in another week for another weight check.

We went to the vet this morning on an unplanned trip. Courtney and I had just come home from the doctor’s office, and Hubby had gone off to work. I let the pooches outside, and when Maggie came back in she kept stopping to lick the upper part of her back leg. So, I took a closer look to see what she was up to and saw a gash! So, off we went to the vet’s office. I ended up having to leave her there and she ended up with 4 or 5 stitches. Hubby picked her up this afternoon; she is pretty sedated right now. So, she is just lying around. We have to go back in 10 days to get the stitches out.

Last night was one of our most awake nights since little Courtney came home. She was up from about 2:30am on. She didn’t want to lie in her bed, she wanted to be held. She started doing that again this afternoon. Seems that now in the afternoon and evening, she figures being held is much better. And she also thinks that being held by Daddy is the best. So, she is currently laying on his tummy sound asleep.

Since she is sleeping, I guess I should try to take advantage of that by getting some things done, like finding at least a piece of my kitchen counter. I think it’s under all the dishes, bottles, and food….
