Life still isn’t slowing down here. I had my first accounting test this past Thursday. I feel I did okay. Probably not an A, but probably didn’t fail it either. I will find out on Tuesday.
It was a busy week this past week, but a lot of it was work stuff. Nothing really worth mentioning there.
Saturday was a little bit more fun. Apple (as in Apple computers) opened up a store at the Shops at Briargate. They offered T-shirts to the first 1000 people, and they said they would open the doors at 10am. Hubby was excited about this and wanted to go.
We found out a few days before that the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) was holding their annual memorial that day also. And they were starting the day’s events by meeting up in the parking lot at the Shops at Briargate and then having a procession through town to Memorial Park where the memorial is, and they would hold a service.
Turns out they were all meeting up right in front of the Apple store opening. So, we got to the parking lot about 9:45am. The Apple store was already open and there was a HUGE line waiting to get in. And in the parking lot in front of that, were lots and lots of fire trucks and lots and lots of motorcycles.
The kid enjoyed watching the motorcycles and fire trucks. They were moving the fire trucks around in the parking lot, and the kid would wave at them when they went by. She got a kick out of that.
We finally got in the Apple store, got our T-shirts, looked around and got out, it was really crowded. We walked around the fire trucks and motorcycles and stopped in a few shops before heading out to run a few more errands.
By the time we were done with our other errands it was about time for the procession to start. So, we went and parked at Hubby’s old high school. The Flight for Life helicopter led them, so we knew when it was coming. They had lots of fire trucks from all over the country followed by 600+ motorcycles. It was pretty impressive, and very powerful.
That evening we got a babysitter and went to dinner with friends. We went to the Melting Pot. I love their cheese fondue.
Hubby left again today on another trip. Courtney now understands that Daddy is on a trip. But when we start preparing her, she always says “No, Courtney go on a trip”. It’s cute.
Also if you tell her she is cute, she will say “I’m not cute, I am Courtney!” She sure is growing up fast! The other day she climbed to the top of the stairs and sat there. I asked her if she was going to slide down, she looked at me (with a mischievous look) and said “Maybe!” She is starting to understand more and more! It was the first time she ever used maybe.
Well, I am off to print out my homework for this week!
