Florida!!!

Well, we are back from Florida! What a trip! It started off EARLY Friday morning for the girls and me. Hubby had left early Tuesday morning, so he was already in FL. Anyway, when I woke up at 4:30am, it was snowing. So, the girls and I drove to the airport in the snow. It made me so thankful that we were heading to Florida!

The day went ok for us. The girls really struggled when the planes descended for landing. Their ears really hurt them. That was probably the worst part. The second difficult thing was trying to get all the luggage from the shuttle into the airport. That was not an easy feat! But I got it done!

Other than those 2 things, traveling by myself with the girls was ok. Not something I would want to do every month, but manageable. And thankfully Hubby was waiting on the other end to help with luggage!

From the airport we headed up to Grammy and Granddad's house. Upon arrival Courtney wanted to know where their pool was. She was disappointed to learn it wasn't in their back yard. Then she wanted to know where their basement was, and their upstairs. When Grammy told her she didn't have a basement or upstairs, Courtney said "where do you sleep?!" Grammy had to show her all the bedroom on the one level. It was cute!

Saturday we spent the day tooling around in the golf cart and then some swimming! Sunday was similar, we spent some time at Aunt Nicky's house as well. Aunt Nicky only has a golf cart! She doesn't have a car! I thought that was so awesome!

Monday we went to Silver Springs. Here is how their web page describes them:

No matter what your age, there are plenty of rides and attractions at Silver Springs that will make you laugh, fill you with wonder, and provide a glimpse into what life was like here more than 10,000 years ago. Just as they did then, the springs pump out 550 million gallons of sparkling-clear water a day—enough to supply the entire city of New York.

Surrounding the springs is a marvelous diversity of animals and nature you simply won’t find anywhere else. Come and explore the stunning beauty of Florida in its natural state.

It was pretty neat! When we were waiting for our glass bottom boat ride, there was a alligator swimming around! Not part of the park! Just a free alligator! Scary, but cool!

Tuesday was Courtney's big day. We woke her up at 6:30am and we took her to Disney World's The Magic Kingdom. It took her a while to figure out what it was all about, but once she realized she got to meet Princesses and Pluto, she was super excited. I thought I had lunch reservations to eat with the Princesses, but I messed up and somehow we ended up with Pooh and Friends. But she really got a kick out of that too! After lunch we waited in lines to meet Princesses and get their autograph. Courtney was able to meet Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Belle, and Jasmine.

She also got to ride a few rides and do some fun things. Hubby and Courtney rode Splash Mountain! She said it was fun! (I watched). She also rode the Dumbo ride, the tea cups and several others. We stayed until after the Electric Parade at 9pm. She really enjoyed that! Then we took the ferry back across to head to our car! It was a very fun filled, LONG day! She has already asked to go back someday.

Wednesday we took the girls with Grammy and Granddad to Uncle Donald's farm. (http://uncledonaldsfarm.com/) It was a cute petting farm type place. The first thing we did was take a hay ride. We rode in a horse trailer that had hay bales to sit on and then lots of free hay in the middle. We used the hay in the middle to feed cows and a llama. The girls really got a kick out of that!

The girls also got to milk a goat and feed a baby goat with a bottle. They also got to pet a pig, a sheep, and several different kinds of rabbits. We bought a bag of feed, so they got to feed several of the animals. It was a cute place and the girls enjoyed it.

We really enjoyed spending time with Grammy and Granddad. I enjoyed soaking up the warm weather. Hubby was able to get in a round of golf with Granddad. Kasey loved riding on the golf carts. If you let her into the garage, she would climb right up into the golf cart and demand a ride. I am uploading many many pictures at the moment, I will try to get some up here soon!

Overall it was great! It was hard to leave and come home. But, we did. The girls did well on the planes this time. We gave them some Tylenol an hour before landing and that seemed to really help. Plus with Hubby coming home with us, it made everything a lot easier.

We all were so exhausted when we got home. On Friday (our first day home) I was so exhausted it was tough to get through the day. I did 5 loads of laundry, but that was about it. But it is nice to be home. And we woke up to snow this morning. (Makes me miss Florida!)

Well, I need to go and try to get some more cleaning done. I think the house exploded the moment we walked in somehow...
