Defcon come and gone...

Well, it's been a month since the Waldo Canyon Fire's big day.  The mountains just still look bald.  I have taken a few drives through the fire zone and it's a different world!

Then of course we had the Movie Theater Shootings in Aurora.  Poor Colorado, we have been hit hard the last few months. 

Last week Hubby's parents came to town.  They arrived on Tuesday, then Hubby left Wednesday for Las Vegas.  He drove out with one of the other guys from the office.  They had a lot of equipment to take to the conference in Las Vegas. 

I flew out on Thursday.  Grammy and Granddad were in control of the kids and pets.  I was really looking forward to the trip this year.  And of course it proved to be as fun as always.  It was HOT in Vegas as normal.  The day I arrived it was 107 degrees!  Hubby and I did not leave the hotel the entire time we were there until we were leaving Vegas.  Defcon, the conference we were there for, was fun as usual.  Lots of entertainment in its own special way.  Good seeing folks I haven't seen in quite some time. 

It was fun, exhausting and wonderful.  I went tired and came home even more tired!  I ate lots of good food, drank lots of (good-ish) alcohol and made lots of good new friends!!  I was trying to learn how to lock pick, but every time we went the lock-picking village was packed and there was no room for us!  So, we are going to try here at home.  Or we will go see some friends up in Denver who will help us learn. 

The girls are doing awesome with Grammy and Granddad.  Kasey refuses to call Grammy "Grammy" though, she calls her Gramma.  Makes me laugh that she is so insistent on that one.  Hubby and I came home last night.  I flew home and he drove with the guy from the office again.  I beat him home by about 5 hours....  We came home exhausted!

Well, I am tired and need to unpack and do laundry and such.  So I am keeping this one short.
