Have you ever needed a vacation so bad, and then you go and it just isn't that great? Well, this trip was awesome! It was a MUCH needed break. And I can't even begin to tell you just how much I enjoyed it!
We took off Thursday evening. Of course my car didn't want to start at my parent's house, so that just made it even sweeter to get out of town. Anyway, we landed about 10:20pm and then took a cab to the hotel. We got checked in and somehow we ended up with a handicap accessible room. That wasn't cool, but they told us to call the next morning to find out about switching rooms.
Here is a view of our hotel from the Eiffel Tower (at Paris, next door). It's the big white building.
Anyway, after dropping off the stuff, we started walking around. We headed across the street to Caesars Palace first. We got the lay of the land in there and then headed up to the next hotel which is the Bellagio. Inside the Bellagio is BEAUTIFUL. They do the lobby area all up for the season. Right now it's full of apples and pumpkins. Here is Hubby and I at the Bellagio:
And it smells like Macintosh candles from Yankee candles (my favorite scent)!
After that we headed out and we saw the fountains. Now, if you have never been to Vegas and you end up going to Vegas, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that you stop and see the fountains at NIGHT your first time. It's truly beautiful and amazing. We watched a few songs and then kept walking around.
The amount of people in Vegas is amazing! There are SO MANY people! And the very interesting part to me was that you see people in short and t-shirts walking next to people in evening attire. All the time! It's just one of those places where you could wear just about anything you wanted and fit in! And the whole “Strip” seems to be designed so that it feels like everything is 'high class', but you don't have to be Donald Trump to be there. Like I said, I was really amazed at the entire experience!
We finally got back to the room somewhere around midnight or 1am. And I slept like a baby in our king sized bed. I will tell you more about the next day, tomorrow! For now, I need to go move laundry and then head for bed! I have to go back to work tomorrow. :(
