Life sure is full of surprises. Just when I thought I had everything under control with Courtney, something new pops up.
So, on Wednesday the specialist put her on the super hypo-allergenic formula. We knew that she has some acid reflux but thought that the allergy was causing it to flare up. Well, then on Friday, the acid reflux flared up as well. So, she now has medication to try to help with that.
I must say our pediatrician really has made all of these problems easier to swallow. She is great! She returns calls pretty fast, and she is very kind. I am so thankful we have a doctor who really cares about little Courtney.
I am so thankful that my mom agreed to come and stay with me while Hubby is out of town. Courtney is a little overwhelming at the moment. Hopefully we can get all of her symptoms under control soon.
We now use a heating pack on her belly to relieve gas. She is using Dr. Brown’s bottles to reduce air intake. And we always warm her formula now, to also help relieve tummy gas. We have also elevated one end of each of the two pack and plays that she sleeps in, and we also let her sleep in her car seat so that her head is always elevated.
So, her breastfeeding days are over. I feel kind of sad, and hard to let go of when you are the mom, but I have to do what is best for both of us. I can openly admit, things haven’t been easy this week, but we take everything one day at a time.
Well, Courtney is fussing now, so I better go and get her!
