9 month pics

Monday we took the baby for her 9 month old pictures. You will have to check them out on our gallery. They turned out very cute.

It’s been pretty hot here all week. I am so glad we had our air conditioning! We had Romeo all week, our friend’s dog. He gets along great with Bristol and Maggie. The 3 of them play together constantly. He went home yesterday. But, we will have him over to stay for a while at the end of July.

Yesterday I worked at the Bark at Briargate. Wnw set up a booth there. We were also a sponsor to the ‘celebrity’ dog wash. This was an event held at a local shopping mall for dogs. Two local radio stations sent some of their DJ’s over to wash dogs. WnW provided the shampoo and towels. It turned out pretty good, there was always a line. I helped for the first hour and then I traded with another guy and I got to spend the rest of the time in the booth (in the shade!). I brought my spray sunscreen with me. I sprayed my arms, legs and neck. I found out later that evening that I missed the area right beneath my knees on the back of my legs. And I missed the backs of my upper arms.

Hubby and the baby came up to meet me right as the event was winding down. After we got everything packed up, we went and walked through some of the shops. They have a meat shop up there now. We got some scallops, tuna, and some cheese brauts. We made bacon wrapped scallops and tuna for dinner last night. Tomorrow night we will have the cheesy brauts. Tonight we are going over to a friend’s house for dinner.

Tomorrow we are having a dog run installed in our back yard. I am so looking forward to it! Our grass is in horrible shape from the dog’s constant paths they run. Also Maggie is such a pain when anyone walks by the fence, she goes bananas. This should solve lots of our problems. We hired a landscape company to come in and install fencing and gravel.

The baby is growing up so fast. She pulls herself up to standing on almost anything. She is also clapping, and waving with just her fingers. She really prefers the walking method to the crawling, but she isn’t quite ready to do the walking thing without assistance.

Nana put up a swing in her back yard today for the baby. She really enjoyed sitting and swinging while the grass tickled her feet. The baby and I spent time at Nana and Grandpa’s house today. Hubby stayed home and worked.

This week our favorite giraffe was put to sleep at the zoo. Laikipia was the big bull they had. He was the father of 30 some odd kids. He was 26 years old. We always visited him when we went to the zoo. We will miss him.
