Well folks, we are in the homestretch. I have officially entered the 3rd trimester of pregnancy! And I already miss the 2nd trimester. It’s getting harder and harder to bend over, reach, etc. And I get tired after any physical exertion. I have also had a few bouts of nausea now and then. I told a friend of mine, who is not a mom that my arms were really starting to shrink. She was very confused; she said she hadn’t realized that was a symptom of pregnancy. It took her a little bit of explaining to catch on to the joke. So, here we are entering the 28th week! And the baby is still active as ever.
My car has been in the shop since Monday. They gave me another car to use while they keep mine. This is all trying to fix the stupid lock issue. I am really not happy with this dealership, but I don’t have much in the way of choices so I am a bit stuck. It looks like I probably won’t get my car back until next week. I miss my car. I didn’t exactly get an upgrade of a borrower. Sure, it’s a newer car than mine, but it’s a low end car. Plus I miss my CD’s and everything else that is mine in my car. Courtney misses her Elmo CD, she asks to hear it every day. I can’t say I am super sad about having a week long break from Elmo…
We went to My Gym last night. She has really become quite the fearless little girl there. It’s a huge change from when we first started. When we first started, she really didn’t know how to climb, use a trampoline, etc., since she had never really been exposed to it! But now, she runs around that place like she owns it! Last night they brought out the zip line for the kids. Courtney did it once but wasn’t interested in doing it a second time. She has really started to interact at circle time too. It still takes her a while in the beginning to warm up to everything that is happening, but she eventually will start to participate.
We had a SUPER visit to her pulmonologist yesterday! (Her lung doctor). He listened to her lungs and didn’t hear much in the way of liquid rumbling around in there! He was so happy; he said her lungs sound perfect! He suspects she may finally be starting to outgrow her swallowing problem. What great news!!! We will do another swallow study in March. If all goes well, we may be able to start weaning her off the thickener. However, if it shows the same results as the past, he will work with the local children’s rehab place to get her on a therapy program. So, I feel like either way we have some hope. We aren’t just waiting to see if she has outgrown it. I felt so happy walking out of there yesterday.
But, shortly before this great visit, I got word that I didn’t pass the glucose test I took on Tuesday. So, I have to go and have the 3 hour test done. BLECK. I hate the glucose test to start! Now I have to do a 3 hour one. The waiting part isn’t so bad. It’s the drinking the beverage that is the bad part. That stuff tastes so awful! And you have to drink it in 5 minutes. If you know me, you know I am not a fast drinker, never have been. So, for me to try to slam that awful beverage, about the size of a bottle of water, in less than 5 minutes is really not fun. I get to go to the hospital and do that on Wednesday next week. And by the way, I was only out of the range of normal by 1 point. Yes, 1 point!!! And I still have to take the 3 hour test. Also, I have to do a 12 hour fast prior to the test. So this poor pregnant woman is looking at several hours of non-eating… That is just wrong to do to a pregnant woman!
Well, I need to go and work on homework. I hope everyone is well!
