The pictures were taken by Courtney's school a few weeks back.
Well, Kasey was diagnosed yesterday with reflux. I know, big shocker. But so far it seems to be much milder than Courtney's was. The thing that irritates me is that she has been showing her own signs for over a week, and I missed it. I was looking for the same signs Courtney showed so I missed Kasey's cues. Her doctor started her on Zantac yesterday. We will see if it works. She got some really good sleep after I gave her the first dose. But she was still up every 2 hours over night, so we will see.
The funny thing is that I really don't feel worried about this diagnosis like I did when Courtney was diagnosed. Probably because I have been through it, and am educated about it now. I really don't even feel worried. A big change from Courtney. I sold Courtney's AR Pillows thinking we would not need them again. Thankfully our friend held on to hers so I can use that one at home for now. And if we want to buy one for daycare in August, I can do that. And I checked yesterday and the price of them has been reduced by $10 since I bought the ones for Courtney. I remember feeling so panicked when Courtney was diagnosed.
Speaking of Courtney, she continues to amaze me. Last night I was reading her Cinderella, for the billionth time. I was trying to make it interactive, so on every page I was asking her to identify things. There was a page that had Cinderella looking out the window towards the castle in the distance. I asked Courtney if she knew where the castle was. She pointed to the castle, and then said "it's in the distance". Wow, okay! Where did she learn that?
She has been very much into the Princesses recently. Cinderella is her favorite. My mom bought her the movie and the book and like I said, we have to read the book every night. Plus she sleeps with it. It is not that old and it's already quite worn. And she has Princess shoes that she loves to wear. She can identify Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Cinderella now in a heartbeat.
Currently her favorite movies are Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella, and Mary Poppins. We let her watch bits and pieces of them occasionally. It's funny because in Lady and the Tramp, one of the neighbor dogs is named Jock. She calls him "Jaw". She kept asking me to watch "Lady and the Tramp and Jaw". For a long time I thought she was saying "I want to watch Lady and the Tramp and Draw". I thought for some reason she wanted to draw while watching the movie. I finally realized she was talking about Jock! She thinks the name of the movie is "Lady and the Tramp and Jock".
Our friend Rick has been acting as a Handyman for us the last few weeks. He is currently unemployed, so we are employing him to get stuff done around our house. Yesterday he insulated our garage doors. Something I have wanted done for quite some time. Both girls bedrooms are above the garage and the temperature is so hard to control in them. I am hoping this helps, especially in the summer. Between that and the solar tinting we had put on the windows, things should start to be better this summer!
Well, Kasey is wanting to be held, I must go oblige!
