We have been pretty busy here! Tuesday day care called me and said that they thought the baby was coming down with pink eye and ringworm! So, I called the doctor and got an appointment for that afternoon. We picked her up and took her in. She had a small spot on her leg that we had been watching that had not grown or anything, and that is what they thought was ringworm. Also, I had noticed that her eye had been slightly red on one side, but it never produced any goop nor did it spread to the other side of the eye, so I figured it wasn’t pink eye. None the less, we did have to take her to get it checked before we could bring her back to day care.
She also had red splotches on her face that I wanted looked at. And she had a slight runny nose. So, off to the doctor we went. She does not have pink eye, and it’s not ringworm on her leg, its eczema. The splotches on her face were from being chapped from the LARGE amount of drool pouring out of her mouth. Also the slight cold that she had caused her lungs to act up again, so she is back on her breathing treatments.
Her lungs sounded so bad to the doctor that she told us that she wanted us to keep the baby out of day care the next day. She was worried about her breathing to the point that she wanted one of us to have a set of eyes on her at all times until she had a few breathing treatments in her. But she made it through the next day just fine and went back to daycare on Thursday.
We had plans for Friday to go up to
So, Friday morning, we got up (a little late) and Hubby went and got the baby up while I took care of the dogs (normal routine). The baby had pooped over night so Hubby cleaned her up and brought her down stairs and started feeding her while I went and got ready. When I was done, I came down and we switched and I finished feeding the baby. As soon as I sat down and put the bottle in her mouth, she pooped again! So, after we were done, I took her upstairs and cleaned up her massive poop. So, finally off we went to daycare. We dropped her off and went to work.
Once we got to work, Hubby realized he had left his laptop at home. We just seemed to have been out of it that morning. So, we went upstairs to the office and began working (he used a work computer). About half an hour later, my cell phone rang. It was day care. Sandra wanted to know if I had forgotten to do anything for Courtney that morning? I kept trying to thing of what it could be? She then explained that Courtney had been playing and they noticed her diaper had leaked, so they picked her up to change her diaper. When they unsnapped her pants, they noticed there was no diaper!!! I had forgotten to put another diaper back on her once I cleaned up her poop! The girls at day care all got a really good laugh out of me!! I had a pretty good laugh as well.
That afternoon we headed up to
They have the things that would go along with a fair such as food and rides. So, we ate dinner there. I had a yummy turkey leg. Hubby and I had standing room only tickets, so we had to go and stand in line to wait to get in. We were waiting in a line that had cow pens on one side and horses on the other. It was kind of odd! Anyway, the concert was wonderful, of course! I really enjoyed it.
The next morning, after breakfast, we headed home. Nana had picked the baby up from day care and stayed at our house to take care of her and the dogs. We got home around
Hubby had to go into work for a few hours trying to get ready to send stuff out to the big conference in Vegas this week. After he got home, we headed off to our friends house for a bbq. Our friends are very active in their Tae kwon do school, and they had apparently invited the whole school over! There were about 70 people there, with about ½ of them being kids. They had a bouncy hut, slip and slide and many other activities for them. Some of our other friends did come, so there were some people we knew there.
We looked around while we were there and we saw one teenage boy reading the newest Harry Potter. Then when we left, we were walking up to our car and there was a family sitting on their front porch, and both the mom and day were reading a copy of the newest Harry Potter! I had to chuckle at that! And then when we got home, we checked the mail and there was mine!! It was in its own box from Amazon that even says: Attention Muggles – do not deliver or open before July 21! I thought that was cute. So, after the baby had gone to bed, I started it! I made it to chapter 9 before I just could not keep my eyes open anymore. I really hope no one spoils the ending! So far, so good.
The baby had a rough night last night. She woke up crying twice. We aren’t sure why, but we had to go in and rock her for a while. The second time we have her Tylenol as we strongly suspect it’s due to her teeth. She has been drooling and chewing like crazy. After we gave her Tylenol she slept a good solid four hours after that.
Susan and Zak arrived in town on Thursday. Their wedding is in two weeks! We went down and had dinner with them on Thursday night. Today, Hubby will go to work and the baby and I are going to go down and hang out with them.
We discovered this morning that the baby LOVES her daddy’s waffles. He made us some for breakfast and she couldn’t shove pieces in fast enough!
Someone recently sent me a thing about saving the seals. I started researching this whole seal thing on the internet and it’s just not pretty. The country to our north does a seal slaughter once a year. They do it for their fur. So, I ask all of you; please don’t buy things with fur! It’s very sad what happens up there! They only take the fur. They leave the carcasses.
Also, did you know that if you buy a coat with a fur lined hood that is usually dog fur?! And they don’t shave it off the dog. So, please always be conscious of the items you buy.
Well, time to play with the baby a little bit and then put her down for a nap. Hopefully then I can get another chapter in!
