Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July! This has always been one of my favorite holidays. Growing up my parents used to take me down to Memorial Park. We would sit as close as we could to the lake. We would have a radio to listen to the orchestra that was on the other side of the park playing live music (one of the local radio stations would broadcast it). And when the fireworks started, it was like we were sitting right underneath them. The booms from the explosion would vibrate through you. It was always so nice. I look forward to the day when we can take the baby down to the park for the show.

But since her current bedtime is somewhere between 7pm-8pm, this year we are going to an early bbq at some friends house. Due to the location of our house, we probably won’t be able to see any fireworks at all. Oh well, someday.

Bristol had agility last night. He is doing very well! But he is scared of the teeter-totter. It is made of metal and it makes a loud bang when they get to the other end. So, he won’t walk over it yet. We just get him to ‘bang it’ down for now. But we worked on the tire last night that they have to jump through. He did great with that! He did lots of jumps and ran through the tunnel about 20 times. Since Hubby went with me last week, he was able to watch and saw my weaknesses. He pointed them out to me, and it made it a lot easier for me this week. Agility is really more about the owner leading the dog. The dog does everything off your body cues. I am really bad at using the wrong hand, or bending over. So, this week I was much more conscious of doing it right. And Bristol had a much easier time.

The place I go for agility is out in Falcon, which is a small farm town just east of the Springs. On my way home last night, they were setting off their fireworks display. So I did get to see a few large beautiful fireworks.

Well, the baby is getting ready to go down for her nap. And I think I may too, she was up early this morning.

I hope everyone has a very happy and safe 4th of July!
