Snow, already!

Last post I mentioned that it felt like fall was in the air. Well, I think that was our only piece of fall. Monday we got our first snow! Yes, on the last day of summer we got our first snowstorm of the season. And then we got more snow again today. Monday's snow didn't amount to much, just a dusting. But the last 3 days, it's been COLD! I am so glad that Hubby and I put the heating blanket on the bed last week! They say from here the cold front is supposed to move out and it's supposed to warm back up again. But summer is over... My body isn't happy with the sudden change. I really need time to adjust from summer to winter. Which is why I think I have been so COLD since this cold front came in. So much for fall...

Hubby missed the first snow. He was in Miami in the nice warm weather. He was bummed that he missed the first snowfall. I am sure he will get the chance to see a lot more since it's only September.

The girls and I had a girls weekend. Saturday evening we went to Target. Courtney loves to shop. That kid is going to be trouble when she's a teenager. Sunday we went to church.

Yes, I went to church. So many people have been trying to figure that one out. Yes I can count on my two hands the times I have gone in the past 10 years since everything that happened with my mom and our church then, but I really want Courtney to learn the bible and the stories in the bible. So, we are going to church. Not sure that Hubby will ever join us, but that's his choice. Don't worry, we aren't going to the same church I grew up in. We are going to a large Presbyterian church downtown. They have lots of programs to offer. I bought my first bible today, ever. I went to Sunday school last weekend while Courtney was in her's and I was the only one without a bible. So I figured I should pick up a small one I could carry easily in my purse. We will see how it goes. I know now to not get too involved or too close to the heart of the church. That is one lesson I kind of learned the hard way. The saying is true: ignorance is bliss!

Courtney had her 3 year old check up this week. She weighed in at 27 lbs even. That put her in the 40th percentile for her age. She came in at 37 inches tall. That put her in the 50th percentile for her age. So, she is pretty average! She will need to have some physical therapy because her gross motor skills are really lacking from where they should be. Most likely all connected back to her neurological issues. But she also needs to strengthen her core muscles, and PT will also help with that. Other than that, she's pretty healthy. Tomorrow she has a swallow study. This is the first one since we started her therapy. So, I am really really hoping for some sort of change. I am not expecting a miracle, but if we see any improvement we will know that PT is working.

Tonight Courtney and I made zucchini bread. She loves to bake. She gets a huge kick out of it! She wants to crack the eggs, but I won't let her do that yet!
That's all that I can think of that has happened since my last post. I am going to go and fold laundry and then go crawl in my nice warm bed!!!
